If you are seeking to have your child baptized, congratulations! We are happy to welcome your new child into God's family in the Church.
The first step is to call the Parish Office (715-842-3148) and ask to speak with Joy Orozco. She will fill out the preliminary paperwork over the phone and pass along the information to Dcn Tom Tierney and his wife Kris Tierney. Joy will also direct you to take the Baptism Prep Class, if necessary.
The Baptism Prep Class is led in English by Deacon Tom and Kris Tierney. A class in Spanish is also available with Joy Orozco.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is when we confess our sins, asking God to forgive us our sins in His love and mercy. This is a Sacrament that we should receive over and over again in order to receive God's grace to stay close to the Lord and away from sin.
In 2nd grade children at Newman Catholic Schools or in our parish religious education program begin their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Since the Catholic schools leave this preparation to the parishes, the parish will help parents to prepare their students for this Sacrament.
If you are interested in having your child receive this Sacrament, contact Joy Orozco.
The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist is when we receive the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
In 2nd grade children at Newman Catholic Schools or in our parish religious education program begin their preparation to make their 1st Holy Communion. Since the Catholic schools leave this preparation to the parishes, the parish will help parents to prepare their students for this Sacrament.
If you are interested in having your child receive this Sacrament, contact Joy Orozco.
If you are interested in getting married, congratulations! We are very happy for you and are looking forward to working with you.
Matrimony is a Sacrament because husband and wife are called to imitate the full and unconditional love between Jesus Christ and the Church. Marriage is a life-long vocation, something God lovingly and intentionally calls you to enter into. It requires careful prayer and discernment before beginning. To help you and your future spouse fully enter into married life, there is a marriage preparation process that we ask you and your future spouse to complete.
The first step is to contact Fr Sebastian at least 6 months before the date you plan on getting married. He will meet with you and explain the next steps in the marriage prep process.
More information on marriage can be found at: https://diolc.org/marriage/
If you are interested in the Sacrament of Holy Orders, congratulations! Holy Orders, like Marriage, is a vocation, which requires careful prayer, discernment and preparation. Holy Orders consists of three grades: diaconate, priesthood, and episcopacy (bishop). If you're reading this, we'll assume you're thinking of becoming a deacon or a priest.
If you're discerning a call to the permanent deacon, call Fr Sebastian. He will set up a meeting with you. After prayer and discernment, if you feel called to begin the formation process for the permanent diaconate, he will help put you in communication with the Diocesan Director of the Office of the Diaconate, Deacon Bryan Hilts. More information on the permanent diaconate can be found at: https://diolc.org/diaconate/
If you're discerning a call to the priesthood, call Fr Sebastian. He will set up a meeting with you. After prayer and discernment, if you feel called to begin the formation process for the priesthood, he will help put you in communication with the Diocesan Director of Vocational Recruitment, Fr Nate Kuhn, and the Diocesan Vocation Director, Fr Al Wierzba. More information on the permanent diaconate can be found at: https://diolc.org/priesthood/
